This 200 square metre property is set in a 4,000 square metre plot overlooking Tzortzi Ghialos bay, on the road to Leftos Ghialos bay. It has a deep 2.5m x 5m x 11m swimming pool filled with rain water. This villa is being sold fully furnished and only the owners’ personal items will be removed. It is ideal for all year round living.


Constructed to a very high standard in 2000, with an unusually high level of insulation, hard wood (iroko) double glazing, internal and external doors, central heating, air conditioning and fly screens on all windows and doors.

The house is finished to a standard rarely seen on small Greek Islands with no expense spared nor detail overlooked.


It has mains electricity, water and a telephone line and has 3 X 50 cubic metre sternas (water tanks) and a grey water tank for semi automatic plant watering. A whole row of filters result in water that is pure enough to drink - something not usually seen on Greek islands. There are beamed ceilings throughout the villa and the wood burning fires give a traditional English cottage feel.


The villa has a long, private, driveway and a double garage. This property enjoys privacy and superb views and is just a few minutes drive from the most popular beaches and their tavernas. It is, however, only a 10 minute drive, on tarmac roads, from the harbour town of Patitiri.


Steps lead up onto a large, plaka paved open terrace with a covered section to provide shade. The terrace overlooks the pool and has good sea views. From here the front door opens into the living room and adjacent dining area.


The living and dining area is terracotta tiled and measures 10.5 x 4.5 m. The living room has a fireplace with a wood burning stove. The dining area has a window to the side and double doors onto the terrace and is furnished with a rosewood table and 8 chairs, with a matching sideboard/dresser.


A door from the living room leads into the farm house style kitchen/breakfast room with a terracotta tiled floor, windows to both sides and doors to the front. This room measures 6.7 x 3.5 m and is a light and bright room. The kitchen has a 2.5 bowl sink, a fridge, ceramic hob with extractor, separate oven and dishwasher.  A good range of wood fronted units with complementary tiling completes this comprehensive kitchen.


The breakfast area has a table for four and has good sea views to the front of the house. This room also houses the attractive wood burner/ central heating boiler which works off wood or diesel and will automatically switch from diesel to wood once the logs start to give enough heat. Believe me, for a small Greek island, this is super-special!


The utility room is accessed directly from the kitchen and measures 3.5 x 1.75 m. In addition to storage cupboards it contains a washing machine, drying cupboard with dryer, drinks fridge and freezer. A door leads to the side of the house and the garage.


To the rear of the living room a door leads into a small (1.9 x 1.9 m) tiled hallway with a window to the rear. To the left is a door leading into a shower room and to the right a door leads into bedroom 4. This bedroom has a window to the side and measures 4.0 x 3.0 m. It is furnished with two single beds; bedside tables a chest and shelving. It has both an air conditioning unit and a ceiling fan. The bathroom can be used as communal during the day and on-suite for bedroom 4 during the night. 


The bathroom measures 2.7 x 1.75 m and is fully tiled with windows to side and rear. It contains a shower cubical, toilet, bidet, and wash basin with storage cupboard beneath and a mirrored cupboard above.


Open tread wooden stairs lead up from the living room to the first floor. On this floor there are two en-suite bedrooms and one further bedroom.  All bedrooms have a traditional English beamed ceiling, with high levels of insulation in the roof.


Bedroom 1 measures 4.7 x 3.6 m and has a window to the side and double doors leading onto a front facing balcony. The room is finished with oak flooring and furnished with a double bed, large and small fitted wardrobes, bedside tables and dressing table. It has an air conditioner, ceiling fan and radiator. A door leads to a fully tiled bathroom which is the en-suite for bedroom 1 and measures 3.6 x 3.6 m, narrowing to 1.7 m where the bath is. It has a bath and separate shower cubicle, toilet, bidet, antique style wood and marble basin unit. There are two windows to the side and there is a heated towel rail/radiator.


Bedroom 2 is to the rear of the house and is also en-suite. It is finished with oak flooring measures 4.45 x 3.85 m and has a window to the side. It has an air conditioner, radiator and ceiling fan, a double bed and large wardrobes. A door leads to an en suite shower room measures 3.0 x 1.7 m and is fully tiled. The shower cubicle has sitting areas on both sides and there is a feature arched mirror above the basin with coordinating tiles. There is a small window to the rear, a toilet and bidet and a heated towel rail/radiator.


Bedroom 3 has windows to the front and side and a door leading onto a large terrace. It has a wooden floor, beamed ceiling and walls. It measures 4.4 x 3.4 m and has an air conditioner and a ceiling fan. It is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, chest, bedside tables and small bookcase. The terrace measures 4.8 x 4.8 m and is plaka paved. It has wonderful sea views and also looks down over the pool area. To the rear of the house the view from the balcony is of the natural backdrop of pine trees which gives the pool area a secluded feel.


A substantial concrete driveway leads from the road, across the front of the house and round to the garage at the side. From here it is only a few yards to the utility room entrance. The double garage measures 6.6 x 4.8 m and has additional storage in the roof space. Beneath the house there is also an apotheki (storage room) which houses the water pump and filters.  This property also has a grey water tank, which recycles bath/shower/basin waste water for the garden.


The plaka paved front terrace measures 11 x 6.8 m and has both covered and open sections. Double doors from the living/dining room onto this terrace make it an ideal entertaining area. It has amazing sea views across Tzortsi Ghialos bay and over towards The Brothers and also looks down over the pool area. The pool is accessed down a flight of steps. The infinity pool measures 11 x 5 m and is 2.5 m deep at the deep end. Coloured lights make this a very picturesque pool at night. There is ample plaka paved seating space around 3 sides of the pool.

Sea views
The views from the villa are stunning both by day and by night. During the day you can gaze over the un-spoilt turquoise water of Tortzi Ghialos  bay, a favorite location for yachts and tourist snap shots. At night watch the moon rise over the still Mediterranean waters, a real Shirley Valentine experience.

Private pool
The infinity edge pool is filled with rain water and measures 11m x 5m x 2,5m. There is ample sun bathing areas around the pool and it is not overlooked. At night turn on the pool lights and watch the water slowly change colour.

The island of Alonissos is quiet, and Villa Oyibo is set in a quiet location about 10 minutes from the main town of Patitiri. Standing in approximately one acre, the villa is not overlooked and is accessed by a private drive.

All year round living
The villa was built to aq high specification with all year round  living in mind. With air conditioning throughout for the hot summer months and central heating for the colder winter months

Close to beach
The beaches at Leftos Ghialos and Tortzi Ghialos are only minutes drive away. Each has tavernas on the sea front open from May to September and offer shade, cool beer and great food. It would be difficult to find fault with location and services.
