This is a beautiful, light, spacious 4-bed villa perched in the mountain area of Lakki with a fantastic panoramic view of the Aegean. It is a unique property in a stunning part of the island with bags of potential.
It offers complete privacy, with few neighbours, but is within easy reach of the resort area of Ammoopi and almost equidistant between the international airport and the main port of Pigadia. It is being sold part-furnished and has central heating for all- year- round living and is well sheltered from the summer winds. The view from the property is positively breathtaking. It was built as a family home but it would also easily divide into two villas. There is room for an 8m pool just outside bedroom 4 (also used as a study). Locally crafted stone walls curve around this secluded area. There is a well and two large water tanks. The road up to the villa is tarmac until the last 500 meters. There is a new roof and a new front wooden pergola.
Lakki is well known locally for its excellent micro-climate ( no humidity ) and the property is a true gardener’s paradise. An abundance of fruit trees, olives with bougainvillea and jasmine climbing the pergola. Sun & moonshine through the front balcony right into the large open plan sitting room – providing a real ‘artist’s retreat’.
Karpathos is definitely one of the most beautiful islands in the Dodecanese chain. Not as well known as its sister islands Crete and Rhodes but only 1hr from Athens and with a big international airport and a new marina.
Often called the ‘jewel’ of the area with its pristine sandy beaches, fabulous high mountains, rocky coves, and interestingly strong traditional values. Tourism is burgeoning since the last 10 years, but the island has remained largely unspoiled and authentic with picturesque villages away from mass tourism and plenty of empty beaches with crystal clear water. International windsurfing trials take place near the airport in Afiarti and tourism is currently Spring – Autumn but could easily be all year.
